April 2026 Business Tax Deadlines to Keep on Your Radar

April is a critical compliance month for business owners. For small businesses across Long Island, managing daily operations while tracking IRS requirements can be demanding. Here are the essential April 2026 tax deadlines to keep your company fully compliant.

April 15 Deadlines

C-Corporations: File your 2025 calendar-year income tax return (Form 1120) and pay any outstanding tax. Need more time? Submit Form 7004 for an automatic 6-month filing extension and deposit your estimated tax liability. Remember, extensions provide extra filing time, not payment time. Additionally, your first installment for 2026 estimated taxes is due today.

Payroll & Non-Payroll Withholding: If your business follows the monthly deposit rule, your Social Security, Medicare, and withheld income taxes for March payments must be deposited now.

Fiduciary Returns: This is the final day to file a 2025 calendar-year fiduciary return (Form 1041) or request a valid extension.

April 30 Deadlines

Notification Bell

Quarterly Payroll (Form 941): File your first-quarter 2026 Form 941. Deposit any undeposited tax. If your tax liability is under $2,500, you may pay it in full with a timely filed return. Employers who deposited taxes in full and on time have until May 11 to file.

Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA): Deposit your owed tax through March if it exceeds $500.

Exceptions & Relief

If a due date falls on a weekend or legal holiday, it automatically shifts to the next business day. Businesses in federally declared disaster areas may receive automatic extensions. Verify current relief updates here:
